DIE FORMEL-1- RENNSTRECKE Seit 1984 gilt die Grand-Prix- Strecke des Nürburgrings als eine der sichersten und mo- dernsten Rennstrecken, mit breiten Auslaufzonen, Tribünen, Start-und-Ziel-Haus sowie moderner Infrastruktur. Seit ihrer Einweihung in der Eifel waren hier Legenden wie Ayrton Senna und Michael Schumacher zu Gast. Der Kurs wurde von ur- sprünglich 4,542 Kilometern auf 5,148 Kilometer erweitert und kann in eine Sprintstrecke sowie die Müllenbachschleife unterteilt werden. Bei Veranstaltungen wie dem Oldtimer-Grand-Prix, der DTM und dem Truck-Grand-Prix ist die Strecke regelmäßig Aus- tragungsort. Im Jahr 2020 kehrte die Formel 1 nach sieben Jahren mit dem Großen Preis der Eifel zurück. Zusammen mit der Nordschleife ergibt sich eine Gesamtstreckenlänge von über 25 Kilometern. FORMULA 1 RACE TRACKS Since 1984, the Nürburgring’s Grand Prix circuit has been considered one of the safest and most modern racetracks, featuring wide run-off areas, grandstands, a pit and start-fi- nish complex, and state-of- the-art infrastructure. Since its inauguration in the Eifel region, legends such as Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher have raced here. The circuit was ex- panded from its original length of 4.542 kilometers to 5.148 kilo- meters and can be divided into a sprint circuit and the Müllen- bachschleife. The track regularly hosts events such as the Oldtimer Grand Prix, the DTM, and the Truck Grand Prix. In 2020, Formula 1 returned after seven years with the Eifel Grand Prix. Combined with the Nordschleife, the total track length exceeds 25 kilometers.
